BEEF STEW IN A BREAD BOWL RECIPE

Ingredients

FOR THE BEEF STEW:

– 2 Lbs.Of beef stew meat, cut into bite-sized pieces.

– 2 Tbsp.Of all-purpose flour.

– Salt and pepper to taste.

– 2 Tbsp.Of olive oil.

– 1 onion, diced.

– 2 carrots, sliced.

– 2 celery stalks, sliced.

– 3 cloves of garlic, minced.

– 4 Cups.Of beef broth.

– 1 Cup.Of red wine (optional).

– 2 Tbsp.Of tomato paste.

– 1 Tbsp.Of Worcestershire sauce.

– 1 Tsp.Of dried thyme.

– 1 bay leaf.

– 2 Cups.Of potatoes, peeled and diced.

– 1 Cup.Of frozen peas.

FOR THE BREAD BOWLS:

– 4 round bread loaves.

– Olive oil or melted butter (for brushing)
